After I’ve had my taste of frozen yogurt (froyo) from different stores/stalls (Red Mango, White Hat, Yoh-Gurt), I’ve decided to try ALL the frozen yogurts I could find. There are a LOT, and I mean a lot, of frozen yogurt stores mushrooming all over the metro. And, my brother Ken and I discovered another froyo that really got us all interested because of how it’s prepared. I’m talking about Yogiberry Frozen Yogurt.

The Yogiberry stall on the second floor of V-Mall in Greenhills, just below the food court, got us all curious. There’s this Yogiberry guy handing out cups to people passing by. When we saw the “pumping station”, I was like, “What’s up with this?!”. The guy, with a smile on his face, instructed us on how to prepare our own cup of frozen yogurt. It’s a self-service yogurt station, which really caught my attention. I like self-service stores or food places because I prefer to have control over my servings. *grin*

First, you grab a cup. Then, you line up. Well, there were no lines when we were there. But, when we were trying it out, there were people who decided to join in. There were instructions or steps on how to prepare your Yogiberry frozen yogurt.

Now, you have to choose which yogurt flavor you want. They have Yogiberry’s Strawberry, Peach Melba, Lychee and Tart Attack. We decided to try the peach flavor.

Then, just go to the station of your chosen flavor and pump the flavored frozen yogurt onto your cup. By the way, I also found out that other branches of Yogiberry offer other flavors like Fresh Mango Mousse, Green Tea Tremble, Madagascar Vanilla, and Toasted Hawaiian Coconut. The flavors’ names are cute, eh?

Afterwards, you decide if you want toppings on your froyo. They’ve got a whole lot of toppings available for you. They’ve got flaked almonds, strawberry chips, choco chips, cashews, crushed graham, mango, kiwi, cherries, coffee jelly, blueberries and a lot more.

My bro and I decided to top our frozen yogurt with crushed Graham, blueberries and peaches.

After we’re done with the toppings, it’s now time to weigh our frozen yogurt. Yes, they weigh it. There’s no fixed price. You pay Php 15 per ounce (oz).

Php 15 per ounce (oz), which I find really affordable considering how much yogurt we got for Php 166. It took us almost 30 minutes to finish it.

The two other customers who came after us were shocked that they had to pay Php 67 for their froyo. There were no toppings, just the yogurt. Well, when I actually saw the amount of yogurt they have in their cup, I felt it was a fair price to pay.

When we were selecting the toppings we wanted, we took into consideration how the weight of the toppings will affect the amount we’ll end up paying. We paid Php 166 for our cup of Yogiberry frozen yogurt. Here’s how big the cup was and how much yogurt and toppings we got for that price.

Now, if you ask me and my bro, for that price, the servings of frozen yogurt and toppings were more than enough for the two of us. If we got that same amount from other stores, we might end up paying around Php 180 to 200. So, it’s really a good deal.

How about the taste, you might ask. Well, my brother and I can’t stop mumbling “yummmmm” the whole time we were enjoying our cup of Yogiberry Frozen yogurt. It was really good! I love the peach flavored yogurt. There’s the slight taste of Yakult and stronger flavor of peaches mixed all together. Not too sweet, not too sour. It was a really yummy yogurt experience for us.

Ken said we should’ve tried all the flavors in one cup just so we’d know which one’s the best. Well, we’re planning on doing that next time we see a Yogiberry store or when we’re in Greenhills again. It’s now our favorite hangout place. Can’t help it. I’m a gadget geek now. ^_^
