The rainy season’s almost here. And years ago, I’d usually enjoy the cold, wet weather by inviting friends over for a movie marathon party or just to sing videoke and drink.
I admit, I’m a li’l on the heavy social drinker side, especially back when I was younger. My usual drinking buddies are mostly my male friends so just imagine how drinking with them increased my tolerance to alcohol.
No, I’m not an alcoholic. I only drink socially, or when I really, really need to sleep so I can wake up early the next day (I’m an insomniac :|). Recently, though, I’ve discovered this light alcoholic drink that’s just perfect for those parties or drinking sessions with friends and you don’t want any of you to get really, really drunk – Tanduay Ice.
The label says “Triple Distilled Spirit with Natural Citrus Flavoursâ€.
With just 5% Alcohol, you’d barely taste the strength of this booze. Okay, that’s my point of view. I used to drink beer with friends, or mix our own cocktails (we’ll share our Mindoro Sling recipe next time). Now, if possible, I’d prefer drinking Tanduay Ice.
When it’s ice-cold, it’s so good that it’d feel like you’re just drinking a citrusy soda. But, be careful ‘cause even with just 5% alcohol, it’s still a very decent booze.
Just the other day, I hung out with Kenneth and his friend Jhay who’s here in Manila for a vacation and will be flying back to Singapore this week. We bought like a case and a half of Tanduay Ice. We were only able to consume about 18 bottles before we decided to call it a night. I think Jhay enjoyed the taste of Tanduay Ice. It seemed like the alcoholic spirits didn’t affect him one bit. (Babawi ako, Jhay! Puyat lang! 😀)
We still have more than 10 bottles left. Thinking of inviting friends over to finish them off. You wanna join us? 😉
The reason why I prefer Tanduay Ice now over beer or any alcoholic drink is because you can still enjoy decent conversations with your friends while drinking. You won’t get too tipsy or drunk that easily. Not that I have to worry about that, but most of my friends end up passing out or going home early ‘cause they’ve had too much. I know, they should know when to stop. 😀
Here’s another photo of me with my blogger friends Eihdra and Joy, enjoying our bottles of Tanduay Ice when they came over to our home last March. 🙂
Are you a social drinker like me? Have you tried Tanduay Ice? How was it?
Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post.
Hi Mhel..I got to tried it and simply love the simple taste. It recalls me the Cali Shandy taste…
social drinker lang din ako. mostly gin with juice, red horse or cerveza negra, yan eh kung may tutulugan akong house ng officemate nearby. hahaha! pero kapag uuwi pa ako sa house vodka ice. magkalasa ba sila ng tanduay ice? parang sprite na may vodka? dami nagsabi sakin na masarap daw ang tanduay ice but can’t have it yet since I’m still breastfeeding. gah! since 2007 pa since I last had an alcoholic drink.
ahaha nakabalandra na naman pictures natin. well i agree i like it too! oh! miss you and eihdra so much, hope i could get a househelp na so i can get out of the house.
my sisters are planning to schedule a day to get together before the school year begins and syempre mawawala ba ang Tanduay Ice? lol
wow meron na palang ganyan… para syang vodka ice… sayang d ako pwedeng uminom ngayon d ko pa sya matry…
I’m allergic to alcoholic stuff pero I cam manage to drink vodka occasionally. Tiis lang talaga. Haven’t tried Tanduay Ice, pero ma-suggest ko nga sa friends. 🙂
