KFC is So Good – Share Your So Good Moments

It’s no question that one of the top fast food chains in our country is Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). KFC is actually our favorite because of their fries, their very flavorful chicken and their original recipe gravy that we absolutely love. They also come up with new products that satisfy the taste buds of Pinoys like us.

Remember KFC’s Double Down sandwich? How about their Chili Lime Chicken? And, our ultimate faves, their BBQ Rods and California Maki Twister (oh, we wish they’ll bring this back!). We remember bringing our parents to KFC just so they could get a taste of these new flavors. Yes, we share our love for food with our nanay and tatay. And even for them whose taste buds aren’t as adventurous like ours, they both loved the different flavors KFC offers every time they come out with new products.

We know you’re all very familiar with KFC’s tagline – “It’s finger lickin’ good!”. It’s one of the most memorable and popular taglines ever.

Now, KFC has decided to not just focus on the quality and delicious food you get from them, but the experience, the feeling you get when you bite into that KFC chicken cooked to perfection or any of their delightfully good offerings.

With just one bite on their chicken, you’d know it was made with the freshest poultry delivered daily, pressure-cooked to get to that right tenderness, and then prepared in-store by real chefs with KFC’s 11 secret herbs and spices that make it truly and uniquely KFC’s.

How about getting that oh-so-fulfilling sensation when you pour KFC’s original recipe gravy on your chicken and eat it with a mouthful of rice or their mashed potatoes (okay, seriously, this post is making us hungry)? Makes you want to exclaim something to express that satisfaction.

That’s why KFC’s new tagline is… wait for it… KFC's new tagline 'So Good' focuses on the experience rather than just their great flavors and food - CertifiedFoodies.com

So good… If you ask us, it’s perfect to describe KFC and the experience you get after dining in or even ordering a bucket meal for takeout.

You can check out KFC’s So Good website (http://www.kfc.com.ph/sogood) to find out more about this change. While you’re at it, check out KFC’s newly designed website – www.kfc.com.ph

Our Top 11 So Good Milestones

For us, Mhel and Ken, during the past years, we have both experienced milestones that led us to where we are now. These life-changing moments in our lives didn’t just involve us individually or the two of us, but our whole family and some of our closest friends. We know that these same experiences will lead us to the path we’ve been dreaming on following very soon. We’re on the right path. 🙂

  1. After my five year-long relationship with someone ended last year, I thought I’m going to be bitter and heartbroken for months!
But, that breakup actually opened a lot of doors for me, most especially it helped me start up my own business – a computer shop. Now, I earn money at the comforts of our home. No more bosses and deadlines to deal with. 🙂 (Mhel

  2. I graduated at the top of my class as a Nursing student. I passed the Nursing Licensure Exam and even got my license as a Midwife. But, after months of trying to land a job in that field, I got tired. I would usually go home and cook a meal or two for me and my family. That picks me up every time. And that’s when I realized my true passion in life – a career in cooking or in the food and beverage industry. (Ken)

  3. The first few months of handling my computer shop business on my own was hard. I had to buy new computers since I had to return the old ones to my ex-business partner (we broke up so it had to happen).

Computers at the computer shop I now can call my own. - CertifiedFoodies.comWith the help of my nanay who financed half of the expenses and a family friend who willingly lent a hand, I was able to purchase what I needed to continue my business. The feeling that people are ready to help just touches my heart. I know I’d be able to repay them sometime soon – not just financially, but I also want them to feel how much I appreciated their help. (Mhel)

  4. I enjoyed my barista training, which made me realize I want to pursue a career in the food and beverage industry - CertifiedFoodies.comI was getting depressed. I know it’s crazy going through quarter-life crisis at 23 years old, but I was. I knew my mother won’t agree that I waste my 4 years studying and all the money she spent just so I’d graduate from Nursing.

But, with the encouragement of my friends from Singapore, I was able to convince her to let me take a short barista training by telling her about my plans of working abroad, too. A decision she completely supported. (Ken)

  5. Managing and manning my own business alone is quite tiring. I spend the whole day sitting in front of my computer, dealing with difficult customers and noisy kids. Whoever said this computer shop biz is easy is plain crazy.
But, I found a way to perk myself up and keep my creative juices flowing – blogging. I have 6 blogs. I now maximize my time online by publishing posts on all of them, sharing my knowledge, my experiences with others, making friends and rekindling my love for writing along the way. (Mhel)

  6. I remember the day when I found out I was chosen to undergo on-the-job training (OJT) at one of the high-end restaurants in the Metro. Among my fellow trainees in our barista class, I was the one who got picked – a licensed Nurse with no background in culinary or the hospitality industry, while the others who took up Hotel and Restaurant Management were assigned elsewhere. My confidence that I can truly make it in that line of work was the highest ever. (Ken)

  7. I design and print party invitations as a sideline business at my computer shop - CertifiedFoodies.comI can never stay put. You can’t keep my mind from continuously coming up with things I’d rather be doing than sitting back and relaxing. So, I started rekindling my love for graphics and web design.

On my geek blog, I have shared some of the blog themes I designed for a couple of my blogger friends. And at my computer shop, I offer graphics design services for tarps, invitations, etc. And I want to be more creative in my designs, so I practice, practice, practice. I’m glad I now have all the time in the world to pursue my love for design, too. (Mhel)

  8. After I completed my barista training late last year, in January, I flew to Singapore to find work. I truly appreciate how much my family, especially my nanay and sister, supported my decision to work abroad, miles away from them.

But, after a few weeks of trying to find a job, I was helpless. I knew it was God telling me it’s not yet time to pursue my dream. I needed more experience.

Heartbroken, I had no choice but to go back to the Philippines. After a few days of trying to convince my nanay to let me study culinary (with my sister’s badgering too, of course), she finally agreed to help me. This July, I’ll be starting in culinary school and I can’t wait to fulfill my dreams of being a chef. (Ken

  9. After a couple of months of blogging and being active in social networks, I started getting invites here and there. Most of them I had to decline because of my business.

After a couple of months of thinking through if I should hire an assistant or not, last week, I just did. Now, I’m free to attend more events from companies, products and advocacies I believe in and support. And, along the way, I know I’ll continue making friends among bloggers I meet who I’d love to keep in my life for good. (Mhel

  10. With the support we’ve been getting for our food blog, Certified Foodies, I started to believe more that I’m supposed to be doing this – going on food trips, experiencing different flavor combinations, learning more about various ingredients and cuisines, etc. And hopefully, in the coming years, being a chef will be added to that list and there’ll be a foodie blogger event held for me and my restaurant. 🙂 (Ken

  11. Though this may be the last on this list, we consider this the most important milestone in life. Now that we’re pursuing our passion for food and writing, we are happier people and this truly reflects towards the people we meet.
Having more control over our time now, we also have more time spent with our beloved parents, going on food trips with them or just hanging out at home with a cooked meal or two. We are now closer and so much happier. And for that, we will always be grateful and feel blessed. (Mhel & Ken)
