When I took my first bite on a KFC Double Down sandwich when it was launched months ago, I enjoyed its sinful meatiness. A lot of my friends and fellow KFC enthusiasts have also raved about it, and were demanding for the return of this sandwich. Now, imagine how excited we were when we found out they decided to bring it back with a hot new twist – KFC Zinger Double Down Sandwich.
Our family, especially Ken, enjoys spicy food. So we really, really wanted to give this a try. The KFC branch in Malabon no longer delivers to our area for some reason (why?!? 🙁 ) so we had to go to their store to order.
To prepare ourselves for this spicy experience, my nanay and I bought KFC Krushers too. She picked the Strawberry Lush yogurt Krusher, I got the Kookies n’ Cream. We ended up finishing them off before our orders were completed. It’s ‘cause of the weather! 😀
There are more new Krushers flavors now and I want to try the rest next time we go to KFC. I’ll order the Mocha Krunch, Rockin’ Road or their Christmas Krushers Winter Berry and Dulce de Leche. The classic Krushers are priced at Php 65; yoghurt ones are at Php 75, while the minis are at Php 45.
I really hope they include us again in their delivery areas. 🙁 Sorry, can’t get over the fact that just a month ago, they still deliver and now, they can’t anymore. 😀
Ken also requested for KFC BBQ Rods, which are back! He is ADDICTED to this!
Now, going back to the KFC Zinger Double Down sandwich, here’s a closer look:
Just like the first version of this sandwich, there’s no bread. Just two (2) KFC Zinger fillets with bacon, cheese and mayonnaise in between them. I was actually expecting this to be as salty as the regular Double Down sandwich. But, surprisingly, it wasn’t. The spiciness of the ZInger fillets complemented the salty combination of the fillings. And, yes, we ended up eating it with rice. 😀
I mean, seriously? How can you resist eating this hot, meaty goodness with rice?! I say it’s meant to be enjoyed with a cup or two of rice or mashed potatoes even. 😀 So, if you’re on a diet, well, obviously, this isn’t for you. But, dang. It’s scrumptious enough for your cheat day. 🙂
The KFC Zinger Double Down sandwich is available for Php 120. Have you tried it yet? How did you like it? Share your experience at the comments section, will yah? 🙂
it’s somewhat less oily in presentation when I first got to taste it… but just as sinful. it’s a cheat day sweetheart, haha 😛 i love it best with a cup of coleslaw 😀
Oohh… gotta try it with coleslaw next time! 😀
Wow! Ang saaarraaapp! Nakakamiss ang Pilipinas at ang lasa ng KFC lalo na doon sa mie taft avenue. Haha. I am drooling right now. Yumyum. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
I am a chicken lover and every time I eat at KFC, hot n Crispy talaga pero lately na try ko rin yung BBQ rods, Ayus dn 🙂 Sarap nman ng mga photos 🙂
I missed blogging about this when double down came out and I’m happy KFC gave me a second chance lol. So which is better, the original version? or the zinger version? or is it just like choosing between original recipe or hot and spicy? :)Â
I prefer this Zinger Double Down ’cause the spiciness masked the saltiness of the bacon and cheese. 🙂
Yahmir loves it, would you believe he finished two? ahaha. Â I like their Strawberry Lush Krusher, sad that i was not able to bring my camera when we last ate at KFC, anyway we are planning to get back again there once JM is ok 🙂
I hope JM gets well soon… and you too! *hugs*
Nagcrave nga ako bigla ng KFC Zinger Double Down gosh.
