McDonald’s McSpicy, Big N Tasty, and Black and White Burgers

We have yet to blog about so many things we’ve enjoyed the past year, and it was only now that McDonald’s launched a new burger – the McSpicy Chicken Burger – that I finally got to writing about how much we love their Big N’ Tasty, which was launched a year ago.

For years, there has only been one fast food chain that delivers 24/7 to our area here in Malabon City – the McDonald’s branch in Concepcion (google-map it!). Though this is mainly the reason why I’ve collected a stash of ketchup sachets from McDo (no shame), they have been our go-to place for midnight snacks. And since I work at night and the stress from my job makes me want to eat past 12 midnight, I can no longer count how many times we’ve had food from McDo delivered here. They don’t even call or verify anymore and the delivery guys already know us. πŸ˜€

I love McDonald’s Quarter Pounder over the Big Mac, but there was a time during my office girl days when I got addicted to their McChicken sandwich that I almost had it for lunch everyday. πŸ˜€ I even ‘tried’ to make my own version of it, but I can’t get the dressing right so I made something up. πŸ˜€

When I found out about the McSpicy, said to be the crunchy and spiced up version of the McChicken, I just had to try it for myself. I had 2 delivered – one for me and another for Ken. And while I was taking quick photos for this blog post, I was tempted to not tell him about it. πŸ˜€ I controlled myself and got busy with work instead so I can stop thinking about it. Sheesh. πŸ˜€

McSpicy Chicken Burger

The McSpicy Chicken Burger is made with whole chicken meat (juicy thigh) that’s flavored with spices just enough to give you that hot, savory goodness without overwhelming your tastebuds. The chicken is wrapped in this crunchy breading, then the dressing somehow reminds me of McChicken’s.

How was it? My tolerance for spiciness has greatly improved over the past year, so it was just the right amount of spice for me. I didn’t feel the need to drink water (which is a no-no since itÒ€ℒll make it worse!) or pause for a few minutes to ease the Γ’β‚¬ΛœburnÒ€ℒ. If you love spicy anything, you’ll enjoy this for sure. πŸ™‚

The best thing about the McSpicy is it’s only Php 80! The small value meal is at Php 115, while medium is at Php 135. I say it’s a very good spicy burger for that price! πŸ™‚

McDonald’s Big N’ Tasty

As I’ve mentioned earlier, I am a big fan of McDo’s Quarter Pounder. With all the flavors packed in one burger, it was my regular order. Well, until Big N’ Tasty came along. πŸ˜‰

McDonald's Big N' Tasty Burger[2]

McDonaldÒ€ℒs Big NÒ€ℒ Tasty is made from 100% pure beef quarter pound patty which they only seasoned with salt and pepper so you enjoy the full goodness of the beef. Mmmmm.

All the other flavors you enjoy from this burger are from all the ingredients that it comes with: creamy cheese, lettuce, juicy tomato, onions, pickles and, the BEST part, their special smokey sauce. It’s a li’l messy to eat, but I end up licking my fingers after. πŸ˜€

I remember when they first launched the Big N’ Tasty, we ordered this like 3 times a week (okay, almost πŸ˜€ ) because we were thinking McDo might just pull the rug from under us and take it off their menu without warning. πŸ˜€ Thankfully, it’s still on their menu! These photos were taken from July last year, by the way.

Of course, though the Big N’ Tasty can be savored alone, I prefer an order of fries with it. I like putting fries in my burger (yes, in, not with) and gobbling up the whole thing. Please tell me I’m not the only one!! πŸ˜€

McDo’s Big N’ Tasty can be ordered a la carte (Php 125), or in a value meal (Small – Php 155, medium – Php 175).

Black and White Burger from McDonald’s Hong Kong

P.S. If you’re already following us on Facebook, you probably saw our post about these Black and White Burgers from McDonald’s Hong Kong that a friend of ours shared with us.

According to our friend (shoutout to Cholo!), the black burger is beef with truffle sauce and the white is chicken with pepper sauce. They both have bacon, herbed and creamy mashed potatoes… the works! Dammit, we want these here!!! πŸ˜€ McDo Philippines, are you listening?! πŸ˜‰

Melon McFloat Γ’β‚¬β€œ Helppp!!!

Okay, I just want to make ‘singit’ this one. I ordered their Melon McFloat with my McSpicy and, immediately after taking a sip, I got nostalgic.

The taste reminded me of this melon candy I got addicted to back in my younger days. But, poor ol’ me, I can’t remember the name!! I asked on Facebook and with all the responses I got, the only ones that I think are closest to what I remember are Starr Melon candy and Lipps. Sheesh. πŸ™

If you’ve tried this Melon McFloat and we’re about the same age (30-ish πŸ˜› ), please let me know if you had the same experience. I need to know what melon candy this McFloat tastes like!! πŸ˜€

    1. Maybe they’re going after quality vs quantity? But, I want the black and white burgers here! Baka they’re afraid it won’t be a hit among us Pinoys because of the truffle part.

      1. Okay, the McSpicy wasn’t bad. It was indeed spicy but it didn’t result in me breaking out in copious amounts of sweat. Can’t say the same for my friend who didn’t enjoy the new burger.

          1. Ahhh yeah, actually, that’s why I didn’t order for our parents kasi I’m sure they won’t enjoy the spiciness. For me and Ken, bitin. :))
